BAM Construction wanted ongoing advice and guidance on passive fire protection.

This was particularly the case in relation to structural steel protection and firestopping.

Trident Fire Compliance immediately provided assistance when identifying minor defects on structural steel fire protection, including insufficient intumescent paint loadings and incomplete steel encasement systems.

Trident Fire Compliance were able to identify a consistent omission on the installations which was then reported back to senior site management for them to action.

The corrective works outlined by Trident were relatively simple to implement, which meant that there was little delay to the project programme. However, it ensured ongoing works were completed compliant to the relevant specifications.

Over the course of the project, Trident were able to assist with a number of ad-hoc passive fire protection situations, such as providing potential solutions for firestopping which needed to accommodate a high degree of movement (specifically from the structure the firestopping was installed to).

We were able to provide a selection of systems which could be used to provide the necessary compartmentation, but also accommodate the various restrictions.

This allowed BAM Construction and the installing contractor to utilise the most cost and time effective solution to keep to their programme, whilst also achieving compliance.
